Liquid and particulate embolic agents serve critical roles in interventional radiology procedures. Liquid embolic agents, such as cyanoacrylate glues and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymers, alongside sclerosants, are indispensable tools for managing haemorrhage, post-EVAR endoleaks, and vascular malformations due to their penetrating and inflammation during capacity.

On the other hand, particulate embolic agents are gaining prominence in both emergency IR and interventional oncology settings. These agents possess unique properties that enable them to penetrate distally within the microvasculature. Furthermore, certain particulate agents can be loaded with chemotherapeutic drugs, facilitating loco-regional endovascular chemotherapy.

In this Hands-on Device Training (HDT) session, attendees will have the opportunity to delve into both liquid and particulate embolic agents. They will learn about the various types available, their specific advantages and disadvantages, and their respective indications. This comprehensive training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for proficient use of these essential tools in clinical practice.
